Great location.

If you are looking for a glimpse of how our ancestors lived in the south before and during the Civil War, then you are in for a treat. We reserved the whole house and it is magnificent. The beautiful rooms with the tall ceilings, amazing portraits, elegant bathrooms made us feel as though we were part of the genteel southern way of life. So much thought has gone into making your stay so surprisingly grand, we hated to leave. Thank you to Ebony for a talent beyond words in making our stay so special, thank you to Paulina and Jonathan for putting their heart and sole into this beautiful grand old home and bringing history alive for us!

I had never booked a bed and breakfast before, but after seeing the pictures online, I decided to get outside my comfort zone and try it! THIS was the best decision I have ever made regarding accommodations for a trip. I was a little nervous because I had booked through Expedia and had not talked to a human being. We called Jonathan (an owner) when we got to town to make sure we had lodging for the next few days. Even though he was on the west coast, he called Ebony, and she came right out and welcomed us into the property and was incredibly gracious! We felt more like family than guests, and we were allowed to look around and take pictures and enjoy the home to our hearts' content! Breakfast wasn't just breakfast--it was a three course delight. We enjoyed the company of another couple, and it was a wonderful social event! Nights were quiet and peaceful, and we could not have been more comfortable nor happy with our room. Our hostess, Ebony was beyond any expectations! She truly loves the home and making the guests feel welcome and special. I mentioned my love for the Civil War stemming from April 9 being my birthday and the day Lee surrendered to Grant. On my last day, she presented me with a birthday card and she sang Happy Birthday to me (her voice calls to mind the angels). I will definitely return!!! By the way, I wanted the Lincoln suite, but it was booked, so I opted for the Grant one. I was NOT disappointed in the least! This place is a gem that MUST be experienced!!!!

This place has got to be the best I have ever stayed overnight! Very clean and beautifully (and comfortably!) furnished rooms each with a private bathroom. And the hosts are very personable, generous, and accommodating. We were welcomed before we even made it to the door! The grounds are also great for walks. And lord have mercy I have never seen the amount of books here except for in libraries! My sister and I browsed for a while until our hearts were content, being the huge book nerds that we are. This B&B is truly wonderful and I hope I can make it back for another visit in the future.

This place was a wonderful experience. The rooms were elegant. Close to the varied historic sites in the area. And the breakfasts were awesome. Valentina served up a great breakfast to start our daily explorations. I would highly recommend this B&B if you are heading to this area,
